As a huge trivia fan myself, it is always interesting to take a look at an ordinary subject and discover a lot of interesting things behind it. Although Italy is far from an ordinary county, that doesn’t mean discovering the interesting facts about this country any less interesting. There are only three active volcanoes in Europe, and all three of them are situated in the South of Italy. The famous Mount Edna is also known as the world’s most active volcano.
Italy also has two of Europe’s smallest countries situated within its borders. Can you guess what are the two countries located inside Italy’s borders? Yes, they are San Marino and the Vatican.
Italy is also the home of Europe’s oldest university. The University of Bologna that is recognized as the oldest university in Europe was founded in 1088. Aside from this particular university, there are also 13 other universities in Italy that were established over 500 years ago.
